Environment
At Fellows House we try and reduce our environmental impact where possible, without compromising the enjoyment of our guest's holidays. By taking a holiday in the UK you are already reducing your carbon footprint by not flying, and we try and encourage sound environmental practice where possible. We do the following:
- We have provided recycling bins in the pantry room.
- We have used energy efficient light bulbs.
- We have a water softener installed to encourage drinking the tap water rather than using bottled water.
- We have high efficiency rated freezers, fridges, microwaves and kettles.
- We have installed an electronic meter reader to show energy consumption at all times to try and encourage energy efficiency.
- We have our outside heaters on a timer so that energy is not wasted if people forget to turn them off.
- We have the house divided into three heating zones so that parts of the house are not heated when they are not being used.
- We have the heating on a timer so it only comes on in the morning and at night - guests can override this if required.
We do the above to genuinely help the environment and not to save money.
